App Got Stuck on Mac? How to Force Quit Apps on Mac
Fixing a Macintosh.pkg that gets stuck in the 'verifying' stage. The High Sierra issue appears to be a known bug that Apple is aware of. There are a couple of options that may resolve this prior to Apple releasing 10.13.1: 1) Try restarting your mac, and trying to open the.DMG again. The package installer should now work just fine, whether it’s a software update for Mac OS, a third party app, or whatever else was stuck in the verifying stage. This seems to happen most often with installers that are run from a mounted disk image, but it can occur with downloaded.pkg updates as well. Just purchased Office 2016 for Mac via download. Trying to install; stuck on 'Verifying 'MicrosoftOffice2016Installer.pkg' for 2 hours now.

Now you have to select the apps which are not running or responding. And then click on “Force Quit” button at the bottom of the window. That’s it!
